My dear readers, the time has now come to place our bets for the upcoming Shire social season. As ever, this curious period from the end of Winter to the beginning of Summer is an excellent time for the marriageable young men and women of the Kingdom of Arnor to meet one another and make advantageous matches.
This year there is all reason to believe that King Thorin II of Erebor, who is planning to tour Eriador on a goodwill trip this spring, will also be participating in the merriment. But the most notable attendee for the past seven years has, indeed, been Bilbo Baggins, the Golden Hare of the Shire. None who have made offers to him over these past few years have been accepted, but that does not seem to stop the relentless hunt for his hand.
Will King Thorin find his match in the Shire this season? Will we finally see the Golden Hare ensnared? Only time will tell.

If you, like me just last week, had no idea what the fuck Competitive Cultivation is, you might be thinking ‘how is John Oliver going to ruin gardening competitions tonight’? Because to us English speakers, the term ‘competitive cultivation’ sounds like a bunch of people trying to win first prize at the local county fair for ‘biggest rutabaga’.
I don’t care if that thing is the size of my head, the only reasonable use for a vegetable that big is as a dildo, and I am not putting that up my butt!
But to the twenty-or-so East Asian countries that participate in the International Nighthunting Union’s competitions, Competitive Cultivation — or CompCult — is a big fucking deal.

Sam and Eileen would be going to the party together. Dean would have no one. And that meant he’d be relegated to at least three hours of his own father complaining about his eldest son being an immature fuckup who thinks making videos for YouTube counts as a job… on his own.
“Castiel!” he shouts to the living room. “Screw it, I changed my mind. Come back.”
Castiel is back in an instant, scruff and all. Dean vaguely thinks about the angel that had appeared to the virgin Mary, and wonders if that one had looked at all angelic, or if all angels were supposed to look like discount Nathan Fillion.
“This is a vessel designed specifically to appeal to you,” says Castiel, looking rather smug.
Dean resists the urge to flip him the bird.
(Dean needs backup for a holiday party. His prayers are answered by divine intervention.)

Summary
Doylist explanation: This is a collection of all of the fics I have written that use multimedia in some way. Beginning with Exquisite Corpse Novel and its tie-in blogs going all the way to now, I've loved using alternate routes to tell a story. This series does not include the Hobbit Liveblogs despite those being multimedia/epistolary because another recurring theme in this series is "contemporary magic", i.e. settings where there's some supernatural element mixed in with mundane, 21st century life. (I hesitate to say "magic realism" because of the literary connection that has with Latin American literature and would not wish to appropriate the term, and "urban fantasy" is a little too gritty/heavy-handed for the slice-of-life stories in here)
Watsonian explanation: All of the multimedia handles I've ever used in my fics reoccur b/c they take place within the same general multiverse, ala Black Mirror.

Summary
It starts innocently enough. Dean wants to buy some new porn, that's all. And a butt plug. Innocent things. He's, maybe, a little, excited. Nervous, too, and it all jangles around inside of him, making him itchy and jumpy and twitchy in a way that's almost got him feeling drunk.
The Fantasy Island Adult Toy Store has been down the block from Winchester Total Landscaping for a while now, and he's been in there before (duh). But there's a new owner now, and the Google reviews are pretty good. Hey--support local businesses, right? Maybe the guy'll need Dean to mow his lawn, which is a thought that has Dean almost (almost, thanks) nervously giggling to himself as he steps inside.
And thus begins the Sex Education of Dean Winchester.
