As he shoved his way past people rightfully asking him about the emergency, Lee decided it served Kara right trying to have a baby barely six months on an untested planet. It was patently stupid to have left the fleet. She was a thoughtless mother already, and her baby might be better off dead right away instead of exposed to her selfishness.
Set in a no Cylon AU of New Caprica, where the epidemic hits at the worst possible time for Kara and Sam for other reasons. Content warning for some medical situations around childbirth.

There is suspicion surrounding elevation up the company ladder for both parties, and rumors regarding who else you might have screwed. And Lydia doesn’t have time to accidentally fall in love with her best friend. She doesn’t have time to have a best friend who she is in love with. Lydia needs to focus on her future, not on Stiles. Her math doesn’t add up to a sum that makes him happy.
Four years ago, she had thought the number she’d come up with was correct. But sometimes she thinks she did the calculation wrong.
