Lifting himself into a half sitting position with his arms, he realized he was sitting in some sort of substance that lay upon the floor.
“Well no wonder i fell.” He thought to himself with an annoyed sigh.
Upon closer inspection of the substance, Lee was able to confirm that it was a liquid, deep maroon in color, that seemed to be drying up in some places. Through his sleep hazed brain, that had also had an unfortunate meeting with the wooden floor, he could not seem to place what the substance exactly was. After a few seconds of sitting dumbly on the floor where he had fallen, his mind came to a sudden, and disturbing conclusion.
“Is this… blood?” he thought frantically.
Lee uttered a muffled shriek of fear and disgust, before hurriedly scooting back until his back came into contact with the fallen desk with a bang, bringing his arms in front of him, as if to shield himself from the horrible realization.
“Did you hear that?”
Shiro paused, only a few steps further away. He turned to Keith with a confused expression. “Hear what?”
“That! That--” The call came again and Keith grimaced. Pins and needles covered his back under his armor, and it wasn’t until the call ended (when did he decide it was someone calling?) that he noticed his clenched fist, water all over his arm and the forest floor. “That-- sound.”
“What sound?” Shiro peered at him and started towards him. “I didn’t hear anything.”
It echoed through the trees once more, and Keith couldn’t take it anymore. He dropped the empty water pouch and clapped his hands over his ears. His stomach was full of butterflies, his heart racing in his chest, blood rushing in his ears-- he felt like he was in the middle of a battlefield, but he wasn’t. Nothing was happening. So why did he feel so… so…

On a simple mission to settle negotiations and get much-needed medical supplies for a rebel base, the Paladins run into some classic interplanetary racism, and Keith is asked to pay the price. This isn't a battle he can fight with his fists, though. Court-room drama in space I guess.
“We were told the Paladins of Voltron are from Earth,” the alien snapped. “And yet our scanners tell us that you are Galran.”
Keith scowled, but he didn’t look surprised. “Half-Galra. And why does that matter?”
The alien stepped forward, their dark eyes narrow with anger. “Because there is a death penalty on our planet for anyone of Galran blood. We would never have considered this alliance if we’d known what you are.”
