Pining over the only friend he still remembers from his childhood just fucked him up like that, enough that Iwaizumi would rather keep up such an absurd act than own up to his idiocy for a taste of what it would be like to call Oikawa his.

This was ridiculous. Shouto would prefer to have worked alone. After all, he had been playing longer than most of those here.
Music theory students trickled in from the hallway followed by the famed critic Aizawa Shouta. There were two benefits to their partner class being Aizawa’s. First: Denki’s boyfriend was in that class and was the teacher’s protégé. Second: Shouto had taken classes with him in the past, back when he’d been more curious about the inner workings of music and the world beyond performance. Now he simply wanted to skate by continuing to play by choice, not at the whim of others.
There were no announcements, no formalities, and not a single opportunity for refusal regarding their partners. It seemed the universe really had it out for Shouto this week and not in a good way.
