Gorgeous story incorporating Arthurian legend, a Wiccan sort of magic and Merlin BBC. I loved it. The magic is particularly well written and Arthur and Merlin feel very real. I gobbled it down in one sitting, but I will definitely be rereading it again and again.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This is a beautifully written, well plotted and deeply moving story of moving past trauma and guilt and anger towards redemption and, eventually, love and happiness. The character studies of Draco and Harry are deep and detailed and make them into believable adults struggling with their pasts and unable to see their way into the future because they are trapped in the stories others tell about them. The original characters are real, three dimensional people who are living real and complicated lives. New York City is the setting, and it’s the real place, not a sketchy backdrop. It’s a long story, but worth all the time it takes to read it.

Brilliant characterization of Sherlock as he discovers what he forgot, of John as he learns to trust his disbelief in Sherlock's mechanical persona, of Mycroft as he finally tells Sherlock the family secrets and proves himself as a caring older brother, though a manipulative and controlling one. Ingeniously plotted and filled with familiar lines used in new contexts. A very satisfying ending, despite the struggle with Moriarty that lies ahead.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Wonderful story that makes a lot of sense of TFP and has a wonderful portrait of Mycroft and his brother. Sherlock comes to recognize his own mistakes and to apologize to his brother for some of them in the end and Mycroft comes to accept his own choices and acknowledge Sherlock's reasons for resenting him. In the end they come to a better understanding and acceptance of each other. Euros is finally revealed for what she is and dealt with as she deserves, but not before suspenseful twists and turns that lead to an almost unbearable confrontation.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Sad and then sweet, as John and Sherlock work to overcome the separation they created after John's marriage and baby and learn to accept the feelings they have always had for each other but locked away. Their slow progress is beautifully shown and the description of their lovemaking is lovely. Moving and very satisfying.
