Summary
Sunny had been working there for about a year and a half now. The pay was one dollar above minimum wage, so he couldn’t complain. And the work was easy. He worked 6 days a week, and as many sick days as he wanted. It was a small family owned business, and Tony, his boss, treated him like a part of the family. It was nice. If he was honest, it felt more like home than his apartment. But still it couldn’t compare to Faraway.
He missed his friends. He missed his home town. He missed Basil. But how could he miss them? He needed to move on. They lived hours away. They probably wouldn't see each other ever again.
Sunny was not satisfied with that.

“He won’t even fight back! Fucking pansy!”
Basil quivered with anger and his own sobs as he closed in on himself. What these idiots didn’t know is that pansies were some of the most resilient flowers he’d had the pleasure to grow.
Another kick plummeted into his gut.
No matter what seemed to happen to them, they always seemed to pop back.
A punch hit his jaw, and he tried feebly to bite out at the hand that did it.
His grandmother ran over a bed of them with her car one time. All the blossoms died, but the roots remained.
The same hand roughly gripped his face, their stubby fingers digging in, clamping his mouth closed like an iron vice.
Rain, snow, even hail, those stubborn flowers just never seemed to die.
His hair was being grabbed and pulled. Basil cried out in pain. Won’t they leave? They won, just go…
Those stubborn flowers just wouldn’t die.

Sunny was honestly ready to expect just about anything after all of that but out of everything, he did NOT expect that he would end up inheriting Omori’s headspace abilities, but honestly he’s too tired to care anyways
