    Summary

Lizzie wasn’t a stranger to harboring crushes on people. Far from it - it was very common for Lizzie to find her affections set on someone for a while. She often didn’t approach them - no, she liked to deal with her crushes in the same way that she dealt with most things in her life: she wrote them a letter and never sent them.

There were five love letters total.

    1. Rafael from Camp.
    2. Hope from 7th grade.
    3. Jed from Homecoming.
    4. MG from Model UN.
    5. And… Sebastian, her ex-boyfriend.

And she’d kept those letters because Lizzie likes the reminder of how powerful her emotions can be, how consuming. People would tell her she’s being dramatic; she actually thinks drama can be fun.

As long as no-one else knew about it.

    Summary

“You’re going to My Best Friend’s Wedding this poor guy? You know Julia Roberts is the villain of the piece.”

“First of all, how dare you assume I’ve seen My Best Friend’s Wedding?”  Richie undid the green bow tie and tossed it in the reject pile. “Second of all, Jules was an anti-hero, a flawed yet ultimately worthy protagonist. Dylan McDermott was the villain.”

    “I don’t think that-”

“He made that bullshit If-we’re-both-single-at-twenty-eight pact, like twenty-nine is the retirement of all sexuality.” Richie had come out last year, at thirty-five, “Cameron Diaz is twenty in that movie. Twenty! She wants to be an architect! He wants her to quit school, probably because he thinks her ovaries are gonna dry up before she can drink. Cameron’s basically giving up her whole future for a leather-faced sportswriter who’d turn down a job with the fuckin’ white socks. And then he has the gall to flirt with J-Rob, constantly, before his wedding! Cameron deserved better. So does Eddie.”

“Richie, you are setting yourself up for the worst possible heartache. Do not go to this wedding.”

Richie smiled, taking his ex-wife’s hand, “I have to. I’m a groomsman.”

    Summary

“Oh, yeah, I’ve been brainstorming,” Richie says, leaning forward so that his big forehead takes up most of the little rectangle that holds his face, nestled between the ones that show Eddie the rest of his friends. “What do you guys think of the ‘Richie Tozier: In Love with My Best Friend, Who is a Man’ tour?”

Eddie is used to hearing him say it now; they all are, even just a week after leaving Derry. But it’s something to see Richie’s face when he says it. He looks relaxed and thrilled at the same time. Buoyed by what he feels and getting to express it. He looks comfortable and light. It’s a good look on him, a stark difference to how he was a week ago. Eddie is happy for him, happier every time he sees it.

richie comes out as gay & in love with eddie & he feels great about it. eddie feels great about it, too. so great that he has to reconsider some things. richie has a hard time believing him.

(it still was too easy to let go of herself – pretend the whispers in the school corridor weren’t about her, pretend the look on her father’s face on the portrait her mother kept on the wall didn’t scare her – but when she looked at the scar on her hand, bev could believe that it was better to open her eyes instead of shutting them. only for a minute. from minute to minute, she could one day heal herself.)

or, bev learns that being strong doesn't mean being unbreakable.
