MirandaTam's graceful words and ReenaJenkin's graceful voice are a perfect match of podficcing heaven
AU where Shmi frees herself and goes with Anakin to the Temple, accepts Yoda as her Trainer, and quietly begins shifting events.
I can't say enough how beautiful and graceful and badass this Shmi is, and this series is. On my "re-listen often" list -
Re-Entry by flamethrower
Fandom: Star Wars - All Media Types, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Prequel Trilogy

Summary
Re-Entry is an alternate universe epic that spans time and possibility. Obi-Wan Kenobi, while still a young Padawan, suffers an injury and wakes up with all of the memories, experience, training, and Force-strength of Old Ben Kenobi. It isn't long before the Jedi discover that Anakin Skywalker, a five-year-old slave from the Outer Rim, has undergone the exact same change. Obi-Wan and Anakin bear the scars of harsh lessons learned; those who love them must learn those lessons quickly, before the mistakes of old are repeated.

Bookmarker's Notes
This is series 1 of an ongoing epic, of which Re-entry: Journey of the whills is still a WIP.
It takes a simple time-travel trope and transforms it into a remarkable tapestry, the Order into a workable organisation (with a palatable reason for the Council having drunk Idiot Water), and the characters into living, flawed, loveable beings. Except Sidious. Fuck Sidious.
It deserves its fandom reputation and then some. Be warned, it is addictive even through a shaky start, and its word building is truly epic. The number of times I went to check on something and ended up rereading the lot is absurd. I wish that the original movies had half the heart or storytelling of this series. -

10/10 will (am) listen(ing) again.
The series is excellent written, and Opalsong just takes it further as a podfic. This is seriously a comfort listen and on my permanent list of things-to-download-immediately-if-my-backup-fails.
Very long, characters based but still plotty, beautiful. The pacing, characters and narration are all clear, and I never got confused even though I'm mostly deaf BTW.
Seriously. Go listen. -
Summary
I feel pretty strongly that the second half of Naruto diverted all the momentum of the first half, where what I wanted to see was what would happen if it speeded up instead. This arc is an AU of canon, in which Kakashi dealt with Sasuke differently after the first fight with Itachi and Sasuke never left Konoha. Changes spiral off from that point.
This is also the arc where I change all the things that truly made me tear my hair in canon, such as the carbon copy generations, the sidelining of the women, the apotheosis of Naruto as a solitary hero, and Itachi turning out to not be a villain. So none of that happens. There is, however, Sakura/Sasuke/Naruto goodness.
Also featuring a dash of Kakashi/Iruka and a side arc about Hinata and the Hyuuga clan that somehow shoehorned its way in while I was innocently contemplating ninja sociology.

Bookmarker's Notes
This whole thing is amazing, but Cloud Hands in particular is a long meditation on courage and comfort and people.
It's Just That Anyone is a fic that changes Team 7 as a whole by changing Kakashi's attitude. The subplots are terrifying. The characters are so real. The characters as children are just adorable even when they're being little hellions. So much goes better, but the people are still flawed, and have to work for achievement and understanding gained. The women get equal respect in the world and by the author, and they play important roles in the plot.
The writing is beautiful.
This was a long project, and I think took a great deal of work, but it never feels like work unless needed for a scene's atmosphere, which I think is also amazing sustained over so long.
A solid comfort ever since I found the podfics.l, which is how I found the series.
