"You don't believe that I'm dead," says Wilbur softly. He sounds so sad that for a terrifying second, Tommy actually thinks that he himself might be the crazy one; wonders if Wilbur might actually be literally dead. Then he turns to look at Wilbur head on: his flushed cheeks, his hair tousled by the wind, his shoulders hunched unconsciously against the slight chill. This is not a ghost, not by any means.
Wilbur has died. He blew up L’Manberg and conspired with Techno to undermine the revolution. He died in his father’s arms, and now he’s a ghost. Honestly, he’s happier this way!
Except that, for some reason, the people around him are convinced that Wilbur’s still alive.

Wilbur dies to Phil's sword, and wakes up to a button on a wall. Wilbur shields Tommy, and wakes up to a button on a wall. Wilbur pushes Techno out of the range of the explosions, and wakes up to a button on the wall. Fundy steps back in horror, and Wilbur wakes up to a button on the wall.
Or, Mumza isn't about to do nothing while her son comes to join her long before his time. She twists time into a loop, each iteration slightly different, and tries to show Wilbur that his family and friends won't actually be better off without him.

Creepers fear cats, keeping a minimum distance of six blocks away at all times. Even when pursuing a player, if said player has a tamed cat by their side, they will not approach, nor begin detonation. Cats are thus a valuable companion for any potential explorer who may not be able to handle these living bombs in close-range combat. Any player fearing a creeper's explosions is advised to always keep a cat nearby.
Wilbur is in sore need of a cat, even if he doesn't quite realize it yet.

“I bottle shit up,” Tubbo says. “Ranboo—fucking, emotional repression or whatever the hell it’s called. Ranboo said it. Says it’s a problem. But you know what? You’ve got the same problem. Anything shit happens to you, and you just shut down and pretend it’s not happening.”
Quackity and Tubbo agree to a truce on the bridge between the outpost and Las Nevadas. For better or for worse, they take down one of the many many walls they’ve built.
The night Tommy disappeared, it went like this:
Tubbo screamed the words that became his goodbye. He can’t accept that Tommy is gone, because that would be accepting that the last words they exchanged were angry and intended to hurt. So he doesn’t accept it. He’ll search for years if he has to.
Techno let Tommy leave without so much as trying to stop him. He’s replayed the memory of that night and wished he’d done anything else, until he thinks the guilt might be enough to destroy him. He thinks he might already be on his way there.
And Quackity can’t help but feel like this is all just a bitter echo. This town is cursed, and Tommy is only its latest victim.
( the small town horror au where tommy goes missing and it all goes downhill from there! )
