Eleven-year-old Yuuri Katsuki drew in a shaky breath, and leaned forward in anticipation.
The lights in the chilly arena dimmed; the audience stilled, no one willing to break the tense silence. All eyes were focused on the entrance to the rink, where a dark figure shed a red and white jacket. The atmosphere practically vibrated with expectation.
“And Now, skating a self-choreographed exhibition program to an excerpt from Ravel’s ‘Miroirs: III. Une Barque Sur L’Ocean’, 15 year old Grand Prix silver medalist… Victor Nikiforov!”
