Fandoms: Stranger Things (TV 2016)

God, he hadn’t meant to. He hadn’t meant to hit him. Christ. Steve’s looking at him like he’d grown a second head, like he’d confessed his love for Satan, like- like Billy had yelled in his face and hit him, hurt him. Because he had.
He’s looking at him like how Billy looks at his father.
When had he become this person? When had he become Hargrove again? To Steve of all people. Steve, who Billy was supposed to love like he’d said he did; who Billy had stayed in bed beside last night, realising belatedly how much he needed him to stay until he could live without him again. Steve, who had become so much more than Harrington whilst Billy had simply stayed the same.
AU in which Julian never returns to Vesuvia of his own accord. Instead, the apprentice accepts Nadia's request to find him, catch him, and return him to the hangman's noose. Or at least, that was her plan...

A bird—perhaps that infernal cockatoo—cries out in the night, its voice echoing among the treetops of the palace gardens. The greenery stretches far beyond the castle, dark and quiet, sheltered from the din of the Masquerade celebrations. Julian’s gaze follows the sound of the bird call, and his eye gleams.
Aredhel recognizes it at once as the look he gets when he’s set on some mischief.
“Say, there’s a fountain somewhere around here, isn’t there?” Julian asks, turning back to her. Words punctuated by his signature brow waggle, he adds, “Want to go for a little dip?”
- Part 9 of Arcana One-Shots
You used to bring Julian rose petals from your garden, to sweeten the air inside his medical mask.
You remember the way he smiled—bashful, brilliant, sweet—when you started to simply bring him roses instead.
