Bucky shrugs. “My brothers wish me dead. But I have claimed this world as mine, and should any dare approach I will slaughter them, and their progeny.”
“Oh,” Steve says weakly. “Well, it’s tough coming from a large family.”

Modern no-Avengers AU. Eldritch (not-so) horror Bucky answers Steve's Craigslist ad looking for a roommate. Cue plenty of misunderstandings, pining, "helpful" "cats," and an eventual happy ending. Basically as adorable as Lovecraftian eldritch horror romance can be.

Jupiter doesn't feel ready for the bureaucratic nightmare of getting Titus to trial, or for the weirdness of being royalty in general. Fortunately, someone's written a guide exactly suited to her new needs.

Lots of cool worldbuilding (world-extending/extrapolating-from-canon?) in a small package. Advocate Bob is relentlessly well-intentioned and earnestly trying hard, while Jupiter's frustration with the DMV-on-all-the-steroids-to-the-10th-power interstellar bureaucracy and other Entitled BS is palpable. The quotes from the explanatory children's sheave (book/datapad) that explain Entitled life to newbie Recurrences (and where Stinger "forgot" to fill in all of the appropriate "INSERT CULTURAL REFERENCE here" bits) is comedy gold.

Jupiter discovers that the one thing Caine Wise wants most in life is to be a pretty pretty bride on his wedding day. And she sets out to make that happen.

Look, I'll be frank: this is over 7000 words of pure self-indulgence. My only hope is that it scratches an itch for my recipient as well.

The awesome, absolutely fabulous wedding idfic this (too-small) fandom/ (ridiculous and/yet underappreciated) movie so richly deserves.

Entertaining characterizations throughout; I especially I love what the author did here with (fun! inverted!) characterization for Jupiter and Caine. That is, this is a pure Harlequin/Mills&Boon romance fic in the most traditional vein -- but in which Jupiter is the one who's (pretty much) the strong, stoic(-ish)-and-competent typical-romance hero character, ready to give sweet, shy, unworldly, blushing-yet-eager Caine all he desires.

Full of gems, this one may be my favorite:

"I'm seeing space fantasy!" Arvin pronounced, prowling around Caine and sizing him up like a piece of very expensive meat. "I'm seeing gothic drama! I'm seeing structure, I'm seeing black glitter, I'm seeing sweeping lines, I'm seeing a floor-length sleeveless matte silver silk jacket over an asymmetrical paneled white linen singlet with a high neck and a hint—just a hint!—of lace at the throat."

He frowned. Then his eyes went wide.

"AND TIGHT-FITTING BLACK MILITARY FATIGUE PANTS," he said, in the voice of a prophet delivering a cosmic truth. "AND CUSTOM TACTICAL BOOTS WITH BLACK-ON-BLACK FLORAL DETAILING."

Throughout the whole diatribe, Caine nodded and nodded and nodded, his eyes wide. "Yes!" he said, when Arvin had finished. "Exactly!"

Post-MoS AU: Clark, struggling to deal with the events of Black Zero Day, is assigned a straightforward human-interest piece—on Wayne Enterprises. Then Batman catches Superman's attention, Clark Kent starts investigating Batman, Bruce Wayne spends a lot of time arguing with hitting on Clark Kent, and Bruce's best efforts to find a way to hurt Superman start to bear fruit.

    And then things get complicated.

In which Bruce and Clark both have Black Zero-related angst/touch of PTSD -- and are both smarter than in canon/not nearly as led around by the nose by Lex Luthor, but instead stop to think occasionally. With excellent results. (Results include talking to each other (even when they don't know they're talking to each other, bc secret identities!), and semi-inadvertently flirting with what they think are really unsuitable potential partners.) Lois knows about Clark being Superman but they're good friends rather than together, Alfred is a treasure, Diana shows up in excellent fashion, and Mrs. Kent gives useful advice.

In a lot of (susiecarter's) DCEU post-"Batman vs. Superman:DoJ" fic, Bruce angsts over whether Clark/Superman can ever trust and/or love him (because of Batman trying to kill him). But in this fic, the trope is neatly and interestingly inverted: Clark is worried that Bruce may not be willing to continue their association once he finds out that Clark is also Superman. (Bruce Wayne has expressed dislike of Superman's actions to Clark, while Clark searches out Batman and ends up making it clear that he values Batman for who he is. Meanwhile, Bruce has come to know and (reluctantly) admire Clark Kent (and see him as genuine) well before it's revealed to Bruce that Clark is Superman.)

Also, the one where Batman accidentally befriends the crashed Kryptonian ship, and where Bruce (to retain/regain his "Bruce Wayne, entitled idiot billionaire" rep) pretends to keep forgetting his long-suffering admin's name.

Delicious alternate-first-meeting fic in which Bruce very quickly learns about Clark's powers and origin and essential goodness, filled with (on Bruce's side, from whose POV this is written) nostalgia and pining -- even though he knows this emotional attachment isn't sensible at all. Really enjoyed the characterization of both Bruce and Clark in this and their interactions throughout.

(Also: the one where Clark sort of apologizes about the WayneComm satellite.)
