Summary
Blackbeard is a mystery-- the man behind the legend is a bit more complicated with blood dripping from his hands and state secrets to sell. He's good for nothing, a criminal who pretends he doesn't like fine things, and he's the leader of one of the world's most illustrious crime rings. To make it all worse, he's absolutely bored with all the money and power he holds, only going on raids that actually make him feel something.
When his crew recovers a human trafficking victim on a raid on cargo ship-- another path starts to open up to Blackbeard-- a path he never thought a man like him would get the chance to have. He doesn't deserve it, but there's something about this annoyingly optimistic if not aloof man that irritates and encourages him to maybe try to have the life he actually wants, a life with Stede Bonnet forever in it.
But Steve Bonnet had a life before he was taken and Ed is resolved to get him back to it, if only to make sure Stede is happy. Maybe he's utterly missing the point that Stede has started to make it perfectly clear that he'll only have a happy life if Ed is in it.

Summary
Stede loses all hope of a better life after serving on a “real” pirate ship with his crew after a failed attempt to get back to the Revenge. He’s a changed man with scars and flinches that were never there before, but he's at least a competent sailor and fighter now.
Blackbeard's barely hanging in there, holed up in his cabin more often than not. He's even been banned from going on raids after an incident that left Izzy Hands frantic to come up with one last plan to try to save his captain. When Izzy finds Stede on a raid, he takes him back to the Revenge to try to get Blackbeard back.
Blackbeard hates Stede, but he still wants him, and Stede still wants him too. They come to an agreement that brings them closer together while keeping them bitterly apart. Two broken men muddle through their past experiences and heartbreak, picking up the pieces and slowly coming back to life as they come back to each other (while Izzy and the remaining crew members try to help).

Summary
Ed wakes up to find that Stede has returned. He's hurt and happy all at the same time until he realizes that he doesn't remember how they even got into bed last night or why they're both naked. It doesn't take him long to realize that Kraken has taken his revenge and now Ed is left to pick up the pieces.
Stede says he's okay with it, but they both know he's lying. However, Stede isn't lying when he tells Ed he'll never leave him again. He's learned his lesson this time.
(This is one of the saddest things I've ever written and I hate it, but I also had to share it).

Summary
The news of Stede's death isn't taken well. If Stede is dead, well, there's no reason for Ed to keep pretending, now is there? He's got nothing left to prove now. Onto retirement-- AKA-- jumping into the ocean completely naked in hopes of reuniting with Stede in the afterlife. Ed reflects on the one thing he's been trying to avoid thinking about entirely: his feelings for Stede that remain completely unchanged.

Summary
Stede's first time with another man is nothing like he thought it would be.
This brings up things from his past, things like body insecurities and disassociating through past sexual experiences. But this experience isn't just with any man, it's with Ed.
Ed isn't put off by Stede's insecurities and he helps Stede talk through his feelings instead of disassociating and ignoring them. Their conversation paves the way for them to continue where they led off until they find mutual pleasure and peace together.

Summary
In which the story of Blackbeard and the Gentleman Pirate was ended too soon so Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet cross paths once again in their next lives to fulfill the promises that they had made on that beach.1717. The silence of the night is broken by the harsh sound of a gunshot echoing through the woods. Loud, but not loud enough to be heard all the way to the beach where the legendary Blackbeard waits for the arrival of his lover.
The Gentleman Pirate does not arrive. He does not meet Blackbeard by the dock. Instead, he lies on the forest floor, eyes devoid of life as he stares off. Unseeing... dead.
