The camera clicks. “That one was good,” Nile announces. “Joe, try some others like that.”
“Like what?”
“Looking away from the camera. Look at Nicky.”
“Wait,” Nicky begins, slightly panicked at the idea of becoming part of Joe’s photoshoot.
“You’re out of frame,” Nile assures him.
“What am I supposed to do?” Joe asks.
“Everything you did before. Just pretend you’re like, camming for Nicky or something.”
Nicky can feel the way his face goes blotchy and red. Joe doesn’t miss it either, and his expression turns serious. “Is that…okay with you? I don’t want to make you uncomfortable,” he says.
Nicky has to clear his throat to speak. “It’s fine,” he manages, but it’s really not fine, not when Joe doesn’t break eye contact as he runs a hand up and down his own perfect chest, as he sucks on his own fingers, as he takes off his jeans so he’s stripped down to the most revealing jockstrap Nicky’s ever seen.
“These are looking nice,” Nile calls.
