Summary
He lets out a long sigh and watches Bucky. Back home he was always too vain to let more than a day’s worth of stubble build up, but now he’s got about three days of scruff on his chin. He shouldn’t look handsome like this. His eyes are shut, but Steve can tell by his breathing that he’s still awake. The cat is curled up on his stomach and purring like an idling motor.
“He’s actually pretty cute.”
Bucky smiles softly, too sleepy to make whole faces.
“Damn right,” he hums. He’s stroking the cat’s fur, which is soft and fine now that it’s clean. He looks so open and inviting. Steve doesn’t close his eyes, watching Bucky’s gentle fingers and trying to come up with a plausible excuse to go touch him.

Bucky's been at war too long.
A year after the fight at Azzano, he's still plagued by memories, both of the battlefield and of his time in captivity. He's been trying to deal with it all himself, but sleeplessness and fear are starting to get the better of him.
At least Steve is there to make sure Bucky doesn't have to go it alone.

( Bucky clenches his fingers tighter, and pulls him until he follows, stumbling against a tree farther away from the hustle. He lets go to practically hug the bark of the tree, looks up at the canopy and around him again. Steve, thinking him delirious, reaches out to check his temperature. Bucky’s eyes shoot to him as he does, bright and possessed.
“Is this real, Steve?” He asks, sounding like he’s almost begging. “Is this real? It feels real, like, like the tree and ---and you,” he clenches a hand around the zip of Steve’s jacket, digging the metal into his palm. “But not you at the same time. But you feel…Is this...? Tell me it’s real.” )

He can almost taste their bloodlust on his tongue, feel their rage heavy in his breastbone. They’re bad today, and it’s safe to say he’s having a very bad day as a result. Each swipe is sending icy pain across his skin, making him shiver. God, he’s cold.
He closes his eyes, pretending not to hear the faint roar of the snarling, crying, screeching mass around him. Why did he think sobriety was a good idea? Christ on a cracker, this fucking sucked.

They thought Vanya would be the most dangerous sibling to look out for when sick. Given that she’s nearly brought the house down in a fit of temper and was the most likely cause for the apocalypse. Blowing shit up every time she sneezes would be a nightmare to deal with.
“It’s Klaus,” Diego scoffs, rolling his eyes. “What’s the worst thing he can do aside from puking on us?”
Hours later, Five, covered in blood, would turn wild, furious eyes onto his brother and say, “How about summoning the walk of the dead, asshole?”
Or, Klaus gets sick, randomly summons ghosts and a very exasperated Ben, trying to fight of nightmares while his brothers are stuck in a literal one trying to avert another apocalypse.
