The thing they don’t tell you about surviving, about fighting your way back home and licking your wounds, about chipping away at a semblance of a life when everyone you love is either dead or thinks you are—the thing they don’t tell you is that you usually wish you hadn’t.

(Eiffel and Minkowski attempt to survive in a world they’re no longer welcome in. They do…alright.)

Against towering odds, all members of the U.S.S. Hephaestus are alive and accounted for. That doesn't mean Commander Minkowski isn't worried about her people, especially the one currently lacking in any discernible keratin. The one who still insists on calling her commander.

    Summary

“Really, guys?” She mutters to herself, frustrated, now heading towards the two pieces of paper, “I know you both almost just died-” she bends down and picks them up, turning them in her hands. “But that’s no excuse for littering; it’s really not good for-” and then she stops, suddenly frozen.

The first scrap says, “Will you go to Grom with me?” In perfect handwriting, and it’s signed, “Amity.”

The second part, which is clearly the top and beginning of the note, says just one word; “Luz,”

    Willow’s eyes widen.

    Oh.

    Huh.
