Summary
The view was stunning, but also, as a live map of an insane trek, Iruka had to cover up just how insurmountable it seemed. With bare feet and not a thing but the clothes on his body, he did as he always did. Took care of the child. He just hoped there were settlements along the way, food and water, and hopefully boots, basic needs they needed fulfilled as soon as possible.

Summary
Setting: Post war, pre-Boruto there is Gai in his wheelchair. While he has wheelchair-bound skills in fighting that canon forgot, he decided to go into teaching the young children of Konoha instead of continuing with missions. Who better to have as a mentor than Umino Iruka? The two are passionate about teaching and caring for the children, find value in each other and feelings grow.
Only...
Iruka would love to date Gai. Gai seem to maybe possibly want to date Iruka. It's just that, well, Gai is Gai and go about life in a very Gai way. Kakashi just want Iruka to pay for the drinks when he comes to Kakashi about the whole mess.
In which Kakashi write horrible fanfiction, and have regular drinks with Iruka where the one who had the least weird or trying day pay for the drinks.

Summary
Humans are so very human, and so many try their best despite their myriads of shortcomings and hinders.
A series filling up the gap where Iruka should have become a part of Naruto's family, where the young people struggle with their roles, their choices, their baggage and becoming parents.
Iruka thought himself to be quite a lonely individual on the sideline, but soon gets dragged into all their messes. He did not ask for this, he is not qualified for this. Yet, here he is, unable to turn his back to his former students.

Cap’s incredulous voice cuts through the stunned silence of the cockpit, loud and shocked. He’s standing there with his cowl in hand, gaping at the holo-screen at the front of the jet. Next to him, Tony is standing with his hands on his head, mouth hanging open in a similar fashion. Over on the other side of the cockpit is Jane, who has both palms clapped across her mouth like she’s trying to hold back hysterical giggles.
For his part, Bucky is just staring at the screen like he can’t quite believe what’s going on.
