Summary
It’s almost worse, Jotaro thinks, that Kakyoin actually means it. Kakyoin really literally actually wants to go on a roadtrip vacation to tour and sightsee with the guy he tried to assassinate and who then proceeded to beat him unconscious.
What the fuck is wrong with this guy.
Jotaro Kujo’s no good, very bad road trip tohellDio’s mansion with Evil Kakyoin.Or, the one where Kakyoin arrives to kill Jotaro before Joseph and Avdol can arrive to explain things, confusion ensues, and Kakyoin and Jotaro make their merry way to Egypt before anyone can figure out what’s happening at all.

Summary
While playing a game of truth or dare, Okuyasu prompts Josuke to recall the nearly-forgotten summer of '89, when Jotaro Kujo came to Morioh to hunt for a serial killer. Eager to latch onto any excuse to spend time with Okuyasu (whom he sorta-maybe-definitely has a crush on), Josuke agrees to meet up regularly so Okuyasu can pick his brain about the events of that summer. But when news begins to circulate of a recent series of murders that resemble those of the killer Josuke supposedly helped his nephew track down ten years ago, remembering what transpired in 1989 suddenly becomes a matter of life or death.
(A fan-made part 4 prequel/sequel featuring Mother 1, forensic scrapbooking, local history, and a chorus of sarcastic ghosts.)

SCHEHERAZADE VIDEO GAME CHAPTER YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS
takes all my favorite parts of part 4 - the great characters, the small-town-murder-mystery feelings, the josuke and his strained relation to the joestar family legacy of it all -- and makes it better. also perhaps the greatest fic title thematic payoff of all time

(1/2) genuinely changed my life. what if you were just like your father in that you wanted to change the world despite the literal gods telling you that you are doomed and the form of the universe being known to be objectively Marred because you so loved the world. but what if you were also Not Like Your Father At All in that you were going to learn from the mistakes of the past and throw open your doors to others and try to understand and work with those very different from you and commit to trusting your neighbor even beyond sense and believing that love can exist in this life for these people. and then you were violently murdered over it!!!! celebrimbor you will always be famous
also introduced me to footnotes in fanfic

what I fondly describe to my bestie as "thee loustat divorce fic" or "thee loustat couples therapy cringe compilation" fic
but seriously: I think about this all the time. if the IWTV tv show is one approach to TVC's politics problems -- by reinterpreting the characters to center the questions of what race and gender and class all mean in a city as multicultural and also as important to empire in New Orleans, so that the show exists in conversation with the lack of thought put into the book in that regard -- gulfport takes the concept as given in the book and ruminates on it for 143k words and hopefully-counting. if you keep Louis and Lestat as painfully self-absorbed, wealthy, white men, but then actually consider the like, vampire-as-Marx's-metaphor-for-capital side of their vampirism instead of taking it as a given, you get this. "capitalism is present in this story about insecure, wealthy, white men in much the same manner that honey might be present in a story about bees."
but also seriously: made me read a thousand plateaus: capitalism and schizophrenia. and genuinely changed the way that I think about art and politics IRL
