    Summary

It was Monday; and on the desk belonging to ‘Toad Buttzman’ (if the vandalised nameplate was to be believed), an ashtray was having a little think about a few concepts it had little grasp of.

It was Tuesday; and on the fridge door, a small snail-themed calendar attempted to make itself known with some well-timed flutters and a pointedly circled date.

It was Wednesday; and the ashtray and calendar, for they were in fact one and the same, were back on the desk, with a few more circles and even some arrows for good measure. It was as pointed a message as the entity comprising them both felt comfortable giving on behalf of other people, especially in regards to concepts she still hadn’t quite figured out.

And it went, as such messages to this particular recipient often did, completely unnoticed.

In which Dirk and Todd celebrate three years together- but forgot they were supposed to be doing that.

Rated M for suggestive jokes, mild heavy petting and Dirk being entirely too comfortable in sex shops.

    Summary

"You know," Dirk says sternly, "if you murder me, there will be nobody around to feed you."

Todd realises that he must be talking to the shark-kitten, who lives with them now - Dirk is attached - and has taken to the very cat-like habit of tripping them both up at every moment she can. She comes into view, winding her way between Dirk's legs and meowing, and Dirk points a loving but accusatory finger at her.

"No, no. Todd will not feed you either, if I die. He will be catatonic with grief over my untimely passing, and you will have to fend for yourself in the wide world."

Todd wakes up beside Dirk Gently four years to the day after having met him realises - abruptly and with categoric certainty - that he wants to do so every day for the rest of his life.

    What the fuck, he thinks.

    Summary

"A fork.” Todd says, because that's what it is. He's holding a fork.

“Ah, but this is not just any old fork. No.” Dirk says, and grins. “Watch this.” He pulls at the end with the prongs and the rest of it begins to get longer until he's holding a fork that's about twenty three inches long.

“It's an…extendable fork.” He says, because there's really nothing else to say.

“Yes. Spot on. Nice detecting Todd.” Dirk looks delighted, waving the extended fork around with wild abandon. “Anyway, I have a hunch it will be useful in the future so I bought it while in line at the chemist.”

    Summary

“…anyway, I’m just going to throw it out there because it’s an obvious truth. Are you ready for this? You and I would make the hottest couple.”

Todd is still nodding along, waiting for his mind to catch up with Dirk’s words, until they register. He considers the proposition. “We.” He drawls, “As a couple.” His brain is doing a tremendously awful job at organizing his thoughts though, because his gaze is kind of caught on Dirk’s tongue as it dips out to lick his lips. “Yeah. That’s good.”
