Summary
Fuck.
That was the only thing that came to mind when the fourth punch struck Adora’s jaw. Really, things could not have gone more wrong as she bids goodbye to her favorite pair of glasses, now cracked into two somewhere on the ground. He starts to roughly lift her by the collar.
She spits out the blood forming in her mouth straight to the man’s face. “My wife gave me this shirt!”
Adora musters up all her energy to headbutt the man-oh shit that really looked less painful in movies. Fortunately, the impact was hard enough for him to release her as they both hold their heads. She tries her best to stop her surroundings from spinning. Sweat drips down the side of her face, or at least she thought, but then the metallic scent hits her nostrils. As she pulls herself to a standing position, she moves her coat, feeling the swiss knife in her back pocket as she glances at the pale skinny man holding an even skinnier kid at her right.

She sighs, turning away from the sunlight filtering in through the small window. The silence of the late morning is shattered by her scream.
Something crashes into pieces on the stone floor in the other room and then the bedroom door is slamming open.
“Shit!” Catra rushes to the bed and rolls a weeping Adora over again onto her back. “That was meant to keep you out for another couple hours. What the fuck kind of metabolism do you have?”
Adora is too busy fighting her own reflexive biting. If she bites through her bottom lip then Catra will be pissed. Never a good idea to piss a healer off.

The world tilts and Catra tilts with it. Undone by her own shoelace, Adora finds herself falling backwards onto the bed. She drags Catra down with her. It’s a miracle their faces don’t smack together.
Way to ruin the moment, Adora, she thinks, her face hot with embarrassment as well as arousal. The weight of Catra’s body against hers is achingly familiar and Adora wants to pull her tighter, press up against her until she no longer knows the difference to the two. She feels Catra shake against her for a moment and pulls back, worried that maybe she had hit something on the way down.
Catra pushes up so that she’s nearly straddling Adora and laughs. Adora sits up a little bit, pushing herself up on her haunches — and then she’s laughing too, something about the scene feeling strangely familiar.
“You’re such an idiot,” says Catra. With the back of her hand, she wipes tears of laughter from her eyes.________
