At first, it was merely a mild case of fatigue that Quincy shrugged off, believing a quick nap would solve that problem. Then it evolved into a surprising lack of motivation to do anything really and a larger-than-normal propensity for coffee to get him through the day. Sure he loved coffee just as much as any guy, but by his eighth cup of cheap, tasteless all-in-one instant brew coffee, Quincy could tell that something was not quite right.

All three pairs of eyes at the table stared at him. Clearly, they seemed to have thought the opposite.

“By Nikador’s name,” Mydei said, slightly awed. He glanced towards their bedroom where Phainon was waiting for him, then turned back to the wrapped condom he had pulled out of the pack. He glanced at the size again, just to be sure, and no, he had seen it right.
“Blessed by the Titans … Phainon is taking these things down like an absolute champ,” Mydei said, shaking his head slightly in disbelief. “What incredible strength.”
He ignored the faint feeling of dread that had begun to bury itself in the back of his throat, practically shaking him. He felt like he was missing something. Something important.
Or, Mydei naturally assumes he’s going to top during his and Phainon’s first time. Afterall, he’s the alpha and Phainon’s the beta. He’s just … slightly intimidated by the size Phainon is apparently used to taking. He doesn’t want to disappoint, that’s all.

"…What exactly are we talking about here?"
"Mydei's stamina! Apparently, it's been harder for him to keep up with me without his immortality! Do you think I've been too rough with him?!"
Phainon is met with reminders that Mydei no longer has his flaw of immortality. The realisation is more significant than he had expected.
