  1. Summary

Stories about the House of Fëanor, the House of Fingolfin, and Dior and Nimloth in the Halls of Mandos after their deaths.

This series connects with the Return to Aman series about Elrond and Maglor coming back to Valinor after the fall of Sauron, but does not require it.

The "Maglor is Tom Bombadil" series: where Goldberry brings a Fëanorian home for dinner, Maglor learns to hope, and the ripple effect shakes the Second Age.

(Series by martial_quill. One story, 'Now Let the Song Begin ' is co-authored with bunn, but because of the way Ao3 displays series, it looks like the entire series is co-authored.)

  3. Summary

A series of stories about Elrond's return to Aman at the end of the Third Age. All these assume that Maglor son of Fëanor was one of the other unnamed Elves who accompanied Elrond, Galadriel, Gandalf, Frodo and Bilbo on the ship when they left Middle-earth. Point of view is usually either Maglor or Elrond, but occasionally someone else (Celebrian, Lalwen, Nerdanel...)

The first story, And the wind as sweet as honey in the mouth, is about Maglor and Elrond meeting again in the Second Age, rather than in Aman, but fits with the overall series otherwise.

This series is connected with the Mandos series, about the experiences of Feanor, Fingolfin, Fingon, Curufin and Celegorm in the Halls of Mandos, but it can stand alone.

  4. Summary

These stories are all about the War of Wrath period, but were written at different times with different protagonists, and don't have to be read in any particular order. I'm trying to keep them more or less in chronological order.

My novel-length work Quenta Narquelion covers the Eastern front, the Feanorians and Belegost in some detail, but I have not included it in this series as it is slightly canon-divergent, being narrated by Invisible Ghost Feanor.

If you'd like to know what Nerdanel, Finarfin, Anaire, Earwen and Finrod were up to before the War, I wrote about that in The Eldar that Were Faithful, which fits in the same world as Quenta Narquelion but I don't think it has any canon divergent elements mentioned.

Sutcliffian account of the fall of the successor-kingdoms of Arnor, I found this really compelling.

    Summary

F.A. 560. While the War of Wrath rages in Beleriand, the House of Olwë attempts to assemble a more complete account of the First Kinslaying than what seems to be the common version these days.

("He won't admit it but he is kind of put out about the way the facts were interpreted in Beleriand — that we were innocent helpless victims ravaged by the big bad Noldor. Also, someone finally told him the Noldor back in Tirion have been writing histories of the Darkening and just speculating wildly about the Kinslaying because they don't feel like they can ask us, and their version also casts us as helpless innocent victims. He'd like to set the record straight.")

Fascinating look at the Teleri of Alqualonde, their swan ships and their feelings about the battle.

    Summary

There were many empty rooms in Rivendell. But there were many guests, too, Elves who had arrived in order to cross the sea in the same great convoy as Elrond himself. They were waiting for the last to arrive, and then they would depart, streaming across the wilds and plains of Eriador, over the Ered Luin, down into Lindon. With them would go history, wisdom, learning and memory: beauty and song. And it would not come back.

Among this throng, Maglor passed, perhaps, as a wild Elf, who had come in from the wilderness to make that journey with them.

    -

At the end of the Third Age, Maglor finds his way to Rivendell, and must decide whether or not to sail West with Elrond.
