Summary
A ghost told Link a story once. In this story, everyone died on a burning field.
There were two survivors –– the lovelorn princess and her battered knight, cursed in cruel mercy to a century in purgatory and a memory so shattered and broken that it was impossible to put the shards back where they fit.
He learned atop the Temple of Time, the dilapidated ruins where his ancestors’ ancestors’ ancestors once stood, that Hyrule had sustained itself on nothing more than stories for ten thousand years. Evil collected underneath the marble floors of Hyrule Castle for centuries. Hyrule had almost unlimited time to find a way to stop it, and yet they waited for two characters out of a fable to save them. Why was anyone surprised when the myth couldn’t sustain itself? Salvation is not the job of two children, regardless of the lofty titles placed over their heads.
But this isn’t a story about a knight. It’s not a story about a princess. This is a story about the aftermath of stories.
This is, ostensibly, a story about a dog.

Summary
"It’s a tragedy,” the poet says with a glint in his eye. “So in one hundred years, it’ll age like fine wine into comedy, maybe.”
“That’s not how tragedy works.” Zelda would know, because she is quite well-read on the subject of tragedy. “Stories are only called tragedies when the hero dies. You can’t turn one into a comedy. The hero won’t suddenly come alive after one hundred years dead.”
“Ah, Your Highness,” The poet plucks a string on his harp. She hates the harp. The harp is now her least favorite instrument. “Is that really how it happens?”
“What is your definition, then?”
“Comedy,” he plucks another string, “is tragedy plus time.”

Zelda is stuck between a rock and a calamity, contemplates the nature of tragedy, and learns that even the Goddess cheats at cards.Bookmarked by bonnibelbg

Summary
“And what are you in for?” the woman asks snidely, crossing her arms and sneering. “Frat party gone wrong? Drunk driving? No wait - embarrassing sexual escapades.” Adora’s kind of glad that whatever’s wrong with her at the moment seems to make her completely incapable of blushing.
“I am completely yellow,” she says with a raised eyebrow. “What the hell kind of sexual escapades would turn me yellow?” the other woman snorts.
“Embarrassing ones, obviously.” Adora rolls her eyes and there’s silence for a moment.
“I’m Adora,” she tries. The other woman stares at her.
“Okay. Good for you.”
