    Summary

When Stiles moved to New York eight years ago, he had no intention of ever looking back at Beacon Hills again. That changes pretty fast when he gets a phone call from Melissa McCall telling him that his father’s been hurt. Suddenly, he’s on a plane back to a place he doesn’t want to be in and seeing people he has no intention of seeing - namely one Derek Hale.

    -

“Stiles, you need to come home,” she answers instead. He sighs inaudibly.

“Melissa, you know I can’t,” he replies and he wants to say more but he’s stopped short when he hears her sniffle.

“No, Stiles, you don’t understand. It’s your dad.”

And that’s how three hours later Stiles finds himself at the airport buying a one-way ticket to California for the first time in almost ten years.

"Mirror twin, actually,” Stiles corrected automatically. “It’s a subset of identical, but we’re not identical in the normal way. I'm the mirror image of him, or him me, whichever way you want to look at it."

Stiles has spent his entire life in the shadow of JJ, his popular, captain of the lacrosse team, jackass twin brother. Now he only has to make it through the summer until JJ goes to college.

Easier said than done when JJ starts hooking up with Stiles' crush, Derek Hale, and there's a dead body in the preserve.

    He’s The Captain?

This was not good. This was so not good.

There were theories of course, of what The Captain would look like. Most followed the typical Hollywoodesque belief that he was some version of the Godfather, sitting in a dark room with a cigar, commanding his forces with a flick of his wrist. There were even some that even thought that The Captain was not one person, but a whole network of people with eyes and ears everywhere.

The blonde Adonis in front of him was definitely not what Tony was expecting.

Of course, in the end it didn’t matter.

There was a reason no one knew what The Captain looked like.

Because anyone who saw his face never lived to tell the tale.
