    Summary

Derek’s desperate to catch Stiles’ scent. He wonders if it will be dark and earthy, crackling with the fire of his spirit, or sweet with the promise of those honeyed eyes and lush mouth. He tells himself it is a normal curiosity that makes him seek the answer, and nothing else.

Derek sniffs, his nostrils flaring as he tries to hold back his greedy gulps, then nearly recoils in shock. Because Stiles smells... well, unobtrusive. Abnormally so. Even betas have a unique scent, although one typically less distinct than those of alphas or omegas. It’s as if his scent has been erased, with only the ghost of its existence beneath his skin.

A myriad of emotions flickers through Stiles' face.

“Not a love match, then,” he croaks out. “Perhaps it would behoove you to remember, Your Royal Highness, that it is not only polite but appropriate to ask for permission before scenting someone. Unless you want to be mistaken for just another knot head.”

“You are mistaken in thinking I care about your opinion,” Derek says coldly, brushing away the sting of Stiles’ words.

This is absolute perfection. The writing is beautiful, the characterisations are on point and the story is so frickin' wonderful. The enemies to lovers, the deception and the historical setting are just *chef's kiss*. I love this so damn much!

    Summary

Thranduil’s pride would not allow him to be of less use to his human allies than the mountain’s mercurial inhabitants. He would stay a while longer, just long enough to help them ensure there was adequate housing for the survivors of the Battle of the Five Armies, enough food to see them through the cold months, wood for fires, and medicine for the sick. The barest of essentials, that wasn’t too much for Dale’s new king to ask of him, and Thranduil felt the pain of loss in his heart ease when he considered it.

This was such a beautiful fic to read. The characterisation for Bard and Thranduil were absolute perfection. I adore stories with Thranduil being fierce in his affections for Bard, very much 'I'll tear this world apart to keep you beside me', and this fit that bill splendidly. I highly recommend this to anyone, even those who haven't read much—or any—of this pairing; this will definitely have you aboard the Barduil ship way before the conclusion!

    Summary

He is a lost spectre, a thing of fable, and when he hears the wolves howl their melancholy chorus, announcing a presence in his forest, he rests his head in his hands, and wonders how long it will be before he is burying another pile of clothes and chipped bones in the part of his garden where once his ancestors were buried, before they ceased to live.

An absolutely beautiful mix of The Hobbit and Jane Eyre. This pairing works incredibly well in this setting and the writing itself is wonderful. There's so many feels; it's heartbreaking, but with a happy ending. I loved it!
