“Will my answer make a difference? Do you go anywhere without at least a few bombs? Don’t you already have bombs in that pack?”
“Ah… haha… Oh! I’ll bring Baxia!“ he says, patting his bag in place before moving over to help Jiang Cheng straighten the straps around his chest, making sure they’re snug before helping place the knives on their respective pockets. “I made some new rockets.”
Jiang Cheng shrugs. “Okay, but I’m not carrying that.”
Nie Huaisang looks up at him with big eyes and a pout. “Not even to prove your love?”

“He’s not.” Jiang Cheng amends quickly.
“We’re in love!” Nie Huaisang adds, full of confidence.
“Don’t listen to him, he is made of lies.” Jiang Cheng says, and before Nie Huaisang can say more incriminating things, he covers the man’s mouth with his hand. “No, literally. That’s his job. He’s a grifter. He’ll be working with us for this job, because there’s no way I am letting you kids anywhere near that building. No. You will assist, but we’ll let the professional handle this.”
Nie Huaisang frees himself from the hand shutting him up, eyes shining. “A-... A-Cheng, you called me a professional…”

The boy nods. “Can we?”
“Hm… I don’t know…” Huaisang hums, looking thoughtful. “It’s up to your jiujiu.”
Jin Ling whirls around to look up at his uncle with big pleading eyes. “Jiujiu, can we?”
“Yeah, jiujiu, it’s for school.” Huaisang quips, also with big eyes, and Jiang Cheng knows it's on purpose.
He looks at them both and finds it hard to keep his frown in place. This combination should be illegal.
