“I’m helping it,” Ciri says, ignoring him, and turns back to the wolf.
But when is a wolf not a wolf? When it's everyone's favourite humble bard, of course!

They were hardly different species; it was the difference between a haflinger and cob. Yet they acted as though they were night and day, cat and dog, blue and yellow. For a long time, they simply refused to smell the air and have out with it. Humans might not have the nose for it, but I’d seen my witcher use his well. I was certain he could smell every thought in the human’s head. The trouble is, it can be difficult to smell oneself, and he never was much for self-refection. As the years passed, our party grew closer, and the days and smells grew wearier, until I found it necessary to interfere on their behalf.

After a battle with a harpy breaks his last hair tie and he winds up in the mud, Geralt decides to cut off his hair, only for Jaskier to jump in and save his white locks from their untimely end. With a little persuasion, Jaskier devises a way to ensure that Geralt never has such a wretched idea again.

Geralt falls in the river fishing for a djinn and winds up soaked. Jaskier sees the opportunity to do as his mother told him a long time ago and takes the first step when he offers Geralt his handkerchief.
