He’ll never forget how George slept through the elections, of all things. It wasn’t even that long ago in the grand scheme of time—Fundy should be out doing cabinet duties for Schlatt, and do his spy duties (which admittedly he’s not sure about even doing) but instead—
Instead, Fundy’s here, ringing the bell on the counter to call the waitress up. He’s here, sitting at a table and checking his watch to see if he got the time right. He’s here, and while he waits Fundy is staring determinedly at the wall to kill the time. There’s a knot in the wall; Fundy’s close enough to notice it because George and Fundy asked for a table at the very corner of the restaurant. He’s feeling awfully like this is a bad idea, not least because both of them used to be fiancés of the same man.
Mostly just a bad idea because George is the king of the Dream SMP right now, and if Schlatt hears of Fundy speaking to him, then he’s a dead man.

“What,” Wilbur croaked.
“Have you really not heard of it?” the young woman said, looking pitying now. “You must — it’s a tale of the star-crossed romance and tragedy of L’Manberg’s founding father. You can go watch the TV show as well, I suppose, but it’s not as accurate. Just go to one of the local theatres in any town, and they’ll perform the play for you.”
“A TV show?” he said incredulously. His voice cracked. Then his priorities kicked in, and Wilbur asked, more pressingly: “Wait, a star-crossed romance?"

(Or: Wilbur, seconds after his death, is flung into the future: a future where he and his friends are hailed as gods. A future where only a few years ago, those from L’Manberg were thought of as the bad guys. He blew up L’Manberg to destroy his legacy, but as he’s about to soon find out, legacies aren’t so easily erased: whether for better or worse.)

“You take too long,” says a voice from behind him, impatient yet somehow still managing to sound almost impressed. “Well, I guess contraband really can’t compare to the real thing.”He turns around almost immediately, nearly scared out of his skin. Wait. What the hell? Why was he suddenly face to face with the original goods?!
The other Shang Qinghua smiles at him. It’s terrifying and definitely eerie, seeing his own face make that expression—cruel eyes, sharp teeth. His blood runs cold in his veins.
“Aren’t you supposed to be dead?!” he blurts out.
“Well,” the other him mutters wryly, “Surprise.”

But you and Yingying are just friends! Simply say that and the plant will release you and go dormant.”
We’re not friends, Ning Yingying thinks, at the same time as Luo Binghe says aloud, “We’re not friends.”
