  2. Summary

In a more militarised and regimented world than ours, Bobby took the boys in when their father fell sick. Dean finished high school then joined the army while Sam ended up at Stanford on a scholarship. Both tested highly for guide potential in childhood and attended guide classes at school, but neither of them formed a bond. In this series, both Sam and Dean eventually find their sentinels, through somewhat unusual paths.

  3. Summary

The story starts in the summer of 1999, a couple of years after the events of "Urban Ghost Story" (for Rory) and five years before "Lost" (for Charlie), but you don't need to have seen either to read this story. Rory is a businessman and loan shark, originally from Glasgow but now living in Manchester. Charlie is bass-player and principal song-writer for DriveShaft, a band he formed with his brother Liam and two friends. Living together is a struggle for both of them -- it takes years to get it right.

It's possible that I may write more in this 'verse but for now it's complete as it stands.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Although the first chapter of Heart and Body is emotionally very difficult to read, the work as a whole is well worth the effort. Implacida captures perfectly the nature of the psychological insult and how body image and loss of skill can hamper recovery. I've loved this story ever since I first encountered it, and it doesn't lose its impact on a second or third reading.

There are two sequels: In Love and Duty Haldir assists a village of men assailed by orcs. In Sword and Shield Celeborn holds Haldir's spirit until Elrond can reach him at Helm's Deep. There are also two minor works in the same universe: The Moon and the Night Sky and Spilled Dreams.

Awesome space opera with SPN characters in a universe that is a unique blend of McCaffrey, Heinlein, Star Trek and many, many others. Well-written, emotionally engaging, and intense. Highly recommended.

Who owns your heritage? How far would - or should - a society go to retrieve a child taken away by his mother? Blair has a hard time working out who is friend and who is foe after he is forcibly returned to Cascade. Well-written and thought-provoking.

Amazing fusion, where McKay is a Jedi (yes, really) and Sheppard is the cutest, poutiest Sith Lord ever. Funny and poignant and very well-written. I come back to this story again and again and it never disappoints me.

A wonderful pastiche of 18th-century epistolary novels, beautifully written and very, very funny.
