The loss of blood has contributed to their death.”

Mu Qing was about to walk around it when he heard a high-pitched squeak.
He stopped in his tracks, debating on whether or not he should look in as the mews continued. Finally, curiosity won over and he looked into the box, where he found a cat inside.
It was a tiny gray kitten, only a few months old, and it stared back at Mu Qing after finally being acknowledged. Also inside of the box was a wrinkled note that said:Please take care of Xiao Mei.
With a little pink collar on top.

They’re awkward, clumsy when they bend forward but try not to touch otherwise, rushed and too slow at the same time. Mu Qing finally grabs Feng Xin’s chin to hold him still. In the moment before their lips meet, Feng Xin’s eyes flutter closed. In the moment before their lips meet, Mu Qing wonders if they should have shifted forms, so they could be themselves for this, rather than Fu Yao and Nan Feng.
