Shouto doesn’t know what he’s doing, but for once it doesn’t feel like a bad thing. It feels like an opportunity. Like oh, this is what it's supposed to be like. When it’s Bakugou kissing him, when it’s Bakugou’s hand in his hair, his teeth nipping at Shouto’s lower lip.
It’s so easy to want, like this.
And God, does Shouto want.
Wants all the things he’s thought about every single time the world felt too heavy and he ended up biting his palm to keep quiet, just in case, and imagining what it would be like if he wasn’t alone. Imagining how Bakugou would look at him if he saw Shouto hard and flushed and waiting. Asking to be touched.
Or: Shouto can't sleep, so he knocks on Bakugou's door.

“What did that walking fucking Pokémon copyright infringement do this time?” Katsuki asks, because of course Kaminari Denki’s dumbassery has to be directly related to his continued suffering. It’s just how things work. Kaminari does something stupid and unnecessary, and Katsuki pays for it.
“He, uh, I think—he wanted to know if it hurt? When I—,” A pause. Uncertainty, as if Todoroki can’t even remember the proper wording. (Which Katsuki does not find endearing. He doesn’t. Because it isn’t. At all.) “Fell from heaven?”
“What did you tell him?”
“I asked if that was some kind of biblical allegory,” Todoroki says.
Or: Pick-up lines work great (under very specific conditions).

Katsuki knows it’s pointless. Absurd, even. Todoroki has a temperature regulation quirk, for fuck’s sake, and still—
Each time he sees him walk out into the winter chill without a scarf, Katsuki’s fingers itch to take off his own and wrap it around that idiot’s neck. Tightly, just to be safe. Just to make sure he’ll be okay.
Or: Bakugou worries a lot more than he lets on, sometimes. (Mostly when it's about Todoroki.)

Shouto was kind of hoping to get out of this unscathed. Not that that was likely, considering that the last time his cat scratched his neck and he forgot to throw on a scarf before leaving the house all the trashy magazines had headlines like Pro-Hero Shouto Tangled Up in a Steamy Secret Relationship??! with pictures of what was clearly a feline assassination attempt and the furthest thing from—god—a hickey on earth slapped underneath for two whole weeks.
He’d agreed to this thing. Because Izuku had insisted. And then Momo had insisted. And then Shouto had decided that getting new friends would be way too much work. So.
Against his better judgment, he had agreed to go on a blind date.
Or: Things turn out a lot better than you expect them to, sometimes.

Sometimes, Katsuki thinks he just doesn’t know how to want things the normal way. Whatever the fuck that is. That way in which he doesn’t—in which he doesn’t shape himself around the want, doesn’t let it twist inside his veins like poison, like an antidote. The way that means all this could be easy. Simple.
There is no easy way, though. Their lives are all so tangled, so irrevocably intertwined that he can’t make sense of it. Doesn’t know where his own will fits into it, but there are things (things like the sight of Todoroki’s faint smile, his stupid fucking smile, goddamnit) that make him want so terribly it couldn’t be anything but his own.
In a moment of unspeakable weakness, he tells Deku.
He knows it, deep in his bones, that that is the only reason why he’s currently stuck inside a locked room with Todoroki.
Or: It's been a while, and Katsuki still hasn't done anything about the way Todoroki makes him feel.
