His birthday last year wasn’t anything like this.
(Seungwoo, Seungsik, on the 24th of December, 2020.)
- Part 2 of see you in this light
Seungsik waits patiently as Seungwoo tries to gather his words, but he knows in himself that he’s sure. This is what needs to be done.
“It, this was just supposed to be temporary,” Seungwoo says, trying. “I just need time.”
“No, Seungwoo,” he says, giving him a gentle smile. Tries to let him know that it’s okay; that for them, this is the best thing to do. “Time can heal a lot of things, but. Sometimes, it needs more.”
(Seungsik, Seungwoo, and the quiet nights that follow the day they became seven again, learning how their pieces can fit together.)
- Part 1 of see you in this light
He cannot help the tears that fall from his eyes as he looks down at his partner, his soulmate. Minseok, he was supposed to be untouchable. Always seemed so above it all to Junmyeon, wonderful and otherworldly despite his humility, so ethereally beautiful and talented and everything Junmyeon holds dear.
This was never supposed to happen to him. He never got hurt or injured, never seemed to be sick either. Minseok didn’t get hurt, but Junmyeon is reminded all too viscerally that Minseok is just as human as everyone else, just as human as he is.
(Minseok and Junmyeon are the nation's most iconic idol duo. A car accident, a broken leg, and a throat surgery, and now, Junmyeon has to pick up the pieces.)
“Time travelers?” Seungwoo says, staring on. “Dad, what? Usually, I’m all for your jokes, but-“
“No! No, really,” he says, waving his hands. “It’s cool.”
“It’s also fake,” Seungwoo says, and his father tsks at him. Rude.
(Seungwoo's apparently from a family of time travelers. He doesn't believe it, but when he spills beer on the prettiest angel he'd ever seen, going back in time suddenly becomes very needed.)
- Part 1 of in time
“And,” Yixing says, not knowing any better of the awkwardness between them as he makes to introduce them to each other. “This is our leader-”
“Minnie,” Chanyeol says, and in all of the time he had known him, Minseok’s never seen him with such a strained, hesitant smile. It doesn’t suit him. “Hi.”
It’s been so long, since he’d heard that name from those lips. It used to bring him so much joy, such lightness in his heart, but. Now.
(Minseok is the leader of Nation's Group CBX. Chanyeol is the childhood sweetheart he hadn't seen in almost a decade, their history with a bitter ending he'd rather forget. One day, their paths cross again when Chanyeol is hired as their newest music producer.)
A mafia boss walks (or rather, collapses) into a small clinic... Seungsik is still stuck on the punch line.

They told me you were awake.
Or: Seungsik writes letters to a ghost, and Captain Han writes back.
