    Steve is coping with the deaths of half the universe by not dealing with it at all. Darcy is desperately searching for Thor in hopes he can shed some light on what happened and why all of her family, including her best friend Jane, disappeared a few months ago. When their paths cross, they try to find something other than numbness in each other. Maybe wild sex in the stairwell and a public bathroom isn't the healthiest way of dealing with trauma, but it's all they're capable of while trying to bring back everyone they lost.

    "I'd like to know why I had to find out about this group by accident? " Annie Edison, in Episode 101, "Pilot."

    I was in a sad place after the end of Season 6, so for my first ever published fanfic I went back to a happy place with this view of an AU of the first season where that accident didn't happen and Annie didn't join the study group and has to get through Greendale mostly on her own, but with at least one friend to help her (you all know who it is). Originally published on ff.net, I've tidied up some spelling mistakes and grammatical errors but otherwise it's the same story.
