Summary
Lucia liked to think she didn’t let her deafness hinder her, and to a certain extent, she was right. But it was natural that there were things she couldn’t do, and sometimes that got to her.
Sometimes she wondered what the rain sounded like. Amelia had once told her that she enjoyed the rain, the described ‘pitter patter’ noises that could either gently roll against the windows or slam against it with the full force of a storm, but in all honesty she still couldn’t imagine it. Lucia didn’t have many memories of sounds anymore, all of them being from her early childhood, back before she had gotten sick and her hearing had started to decline, and any she did have were faint and muddled, so much so that she wasn’t even sure if they were accurate.
She’d never admit it, but Lucia still cried about not being able to remember her Mother’s voice to this very day.
Or: the beta’s are their normal chaotic selves and Lucia needs a hug
