    Summary

Mu Qing hated his small town where nothing new ever happened. For 14 years everything had been the same. And then Feng Xin shows up. Feng Xin teaches Mu Qing of all the love and loss talked about in all of Mu Qing's favorite songs, and Mu Qing finds out about love does suck as much as everyone says.

(In which we follow Mu Qing's and Feng Xin's relationship through high school and college, how it develops and falls apart and maybe comes back together.)

    Summary

They’re third years when they gain the privilege of going to Hogsmeade, a cozy little wizarding village that promises nothing but excitement—full of shops and dainty cottages, brightly decorated for the holiday season.

“I’m thinking we should visit Honeydukes,” Feng Xin says. They’re trudging through the snow, and Mu Qing’s boots are getting uncomfortably cold. White flakes are still falling in little flurries around them; Feng Xin’s dark hair is artfully speckled with them. Snowflakes are on his lashes, too, glittering in the faint sunlight like tiny diamonds as he blinks.

Mu Qing tears his gaze away. “Whatever,” he says, but he really means yes, Honeydukes, anywhere, let’s go.

    Summary

Feng Xin should be absolutely repulsed at the idea. It’s Mu Qing. Mu Qing, who is somehow both way below Feng Xin’s standards and entirely out of his league. Mu Qing, the absolute worst person that Feng Xin knows, the bane of his existence, the one person that knows just how to get under Feng Xin’s skin with a single well-timed insult.

Mu Qing, who saved his life once. Mu Qing, who gets a glint in his eye every time Feng Xin rises to his bait. Mu Qing, with his stupidly soft looking hair that he’s always curling behind his ears, and his stupid beautiful eyebrows and perfect facial structure and stupid lip gloss that he always wears that Feng Xin thinks must taste like strawberries, because it leaves his lips looking shiny and soft and annoyingly plush and pink and ripe, and Mu Qing’s stupid hands with the always perfect nail polish and the way they’re cold to the touch when he brushes against Feng Xin, and-

Feng Xin looks down. The napkins are soaked with soy sauce.

It happens once. They both agree that it shouldn't happen again.

It happens again. And again. And again.

    Summary

His thoughts are interrupted by a crash at the door, Xie Lian falling through a hastily drawn distance shortening array, clutching a set of papers like his life depends on it. Maybe it does, Xie Lian has always had the unlucky trait of trouble following his every step.

“Feng Xin,” Xie Lian says, breathless, “Feng Xin, Mu Qing left us letters.”

“What-” He starts, Xie Lian pushes past him, laying the papers on the table.

“Mu Qing he- he left us letters, Feng Xin.” He smiles, something happy and uncontrollable and full of longing, “they go all the way back to Xianle, Feng Xin, Feng Xin he left us letters.”

or, Mu Qing dies, Feng Xin and Xie Lian are left to pick up the pieces.

    Summary

It happens too fast. One moment Feng Xin has Mu Qing's wrists pinned to the column, and the next, Mu Qing has slipped his wrists free, bunched his fists into Feng Xin's robes, and slotted a muscled thigh between Feng Xin's legs. Feng Xin freezes, face close enough to count each one of Mu Qing's eyelashes. Blood rushes south. Some little voice in the back of his head quips that he's going to develop a specific interest in Mu Qing's thighs if this keeps happening. A second little voice assures him he already has.

Feng Xin ignores all of that, just as he does every time, and especially ignores how Mu Qing's tongue wets his lips before he speaks.

"Hm? I thought you would be bigger than that." Mu Qing shifts his thigh slightly, subtle, but the pebble tossed into Feng Xin's pond creates waves instead of ripples. "Just this? The fabled, mighty tool of Ju Yang…." Mu Qing leans closer, his breath teasing Feng Xin's lips as he speaks. "...Turns out to be nothing more than a dull knife in a sword's sheath."
