Summary
Tony hates HYDRA bases.
He especially hates HYDRA bases that he has to investigate on his own, because Bruce doesn’t like to bring out the Hulk until the world is going to shit, and Clint is off on some mission that is actually run by SHIELD but no one wants to acknowledge it, and Thor is back on Asgard, and Steve and Natasha are doing something that they don’t want to tell anyone about.
So, when the intel from Maria comes in, he’s the only one around to deal with it.
In the base, he finds a little girl, no older than three, and when she looks up at him, her eyes are wide, and she looks like she wants to run.
In the same base, he finds the results of a DNA test, and it's very clear, looking at just the first page, that this little girl is the biological daughter of Anthony Edward Stark and James Buchanan Barnes.

Tony really hates magic. Has he mentioned that lately? He really, really hates magic. Nothing ever good ever comes of it. What he hates even more than magic? Portals. So when the two are combined, he really isn't happy. His point is proven when said magical portal spits of not one, but two, different versions of his father along Ana and Jarvis, young Aunt Peggy and his Mama. Things get... a little bit... interesting after that, shall we say? This may be a blessing in some ways, but it also a curse. It ends up being something else too - a way to finally lay some of his demons to rest, maybe.

Summary
Everything interesting in the desert happened at night, at least in Anakin’s experience. The temperatures dropped with the setting of the suns and the darkness crept in, covering acts that would be revealed under Tatooine’s harsh daylight. Considering what people were willing to do in the light, the night hours were a dangerous time to be about.
Anakin was one of the many factors that made them so.
(AU where Qui-Gon never took Anakin off of Tatooine)
OR, the one where Anakin gets a ready-made family dropped on him and handles the situation far better than anticipated.
