Dean's internalized homophobia captured really well here. Kind of a dark take on his childhood and why he has an over-the-top reaction whenever someone questions his masculinity. This 'fic figuratively killed me.

    Summary

Draco Malfoy of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures has been sent to a remote Scottish island to handle the post-mortem and clean up of a washed up magical beast. The Scottish Auror office have also sent one of theirs, Harry Potter, somebody Draco hasn’t seen in several years, but with whom he shares a romantic history. Draco quickly finds himself slipping back into old habits while struggling to maintain his own agency and professionalism. Is it the beast’s malevolent influence or genuine yet long buried affection for Harry that’s behind their slide back into physical and emotional intimacy?

At first I saw there were zero words and I was like, what??? But then I saw the comments, so I opened it and... it's a gorgeous comic drawn in water-colour with sweeping gestural artwork and messy, Sandman-esque dream sequences. And the themes are so mature and adult, but not in an over-the-top gore kind of way, more in a sombre way. And it's beautiful. Holy shit!

Wow. This was beautifully written. Outstanding use of setting. The doubling of character traits between the investigators and the investigated, the world-building in the area of cursed object theory and wizarding bureaucracy, the appropriate nods to relevant moments from canon without leaning on them overmuch... all brilliantly done. A+ would read again.

I love Draco Malfoy as an over-the-top, high-maintenance, and flamboyant queen and Harry as his easygoing, long-suffering partner.

Trying to join a hoity-toity club, only to discover it's full of bigots, so they troll them pretty hard.

Solving mysteries as Aurors, being together on the DL.

    So hot. So fun.

I really had a great time reading this series. Lots of hot sex scenes peppered in there, but there's a good balance of plot, too.

    Summary

Harry felt Malfoy's breath on his lips as they came together over the bottle, hands firmly planted on the floor as though they each needed their familiar soil, refusing to cross into enemy territory.

Except that Malfoy no longer felt like his enemy.

    Malfoy felt inevitable.

This was a wonderful coming out and coming-of-age story. It also put a racy twist on JKR's usual storytelling style by keeping the usual "murder mystery" subplot tradition alive while having some, ah, getting-together scenes in there. I really enjoyed it.
