Something struck me the other day. Castiel was yanking around Jimmy's CORPSE for a while. NO OTHER Angel really does this otherwise Michael wouldn't even bother with Dean's soul, he would've just had the body resurrected and taken it. WHY? Why does Castiel possess a deadman?
Though none of the gaang has seen him before, he is an intimidating and striking figure. As they travel through the earth kingdom in search of another teacher for Aang, they shudder at the stories they hear—each worse than the last. Tales of how he challenged his own father and stole the throne from beneath him at only 13 years of age has travelled far and wide and is a pervasive tale about the cut-throat nature of the Fire Nation. How a young prince and a father dueled and only one of them lived to see the sun again. They hear the whispers and the tales of their enemy, Fire Lord Zuko.

The U.S.A's own vague yet menacing government agency discover a potentially game-changing material from a previously unknown town in the middle of the Nevada desert. Thus, Carlos and his team of scientists are sent to study this hard to find desert community. There they find houses that are there but aren't, time which is constantly running away, a screaming sun, and of course, ritualistic bloodstones.
Of course, this isn't about the United States and their constant hunger for more, or the true intentions of either vague yet menacing government agency, or the intrusive and obsessive man on the radio, or even is it solely about Carlos. This is about the team of scientists that were woefully underprepared and trapped in this desert town.
An outsider POV fic with, of course, the canon-typical violence and such, with a dash of humor sprinkled on top.

In a society where death by disease or old age is completely eradicated and war has not broken out in many, many years, in order to curb overpopulation there are the CHOSEN. Those who are selected at random, no matter class, gender, wealth, or aspirations, who are given one very secret job. To kill people at random. Only a very small percentage of Asgard is Chosen and they all keep their status a secret. And Loki… Definitely knows how to keep secrets.
"It only hurts when I breathe,
It only hurts when I drive,
It only hurts when at night,
It only hurts when I cry,
It only hurts when I work,
It only hurts when I play,
It only hurts when I move,
It only hurts when I say: 'It's just another day.'"

The Behavioral Analysis Unit has never seen such a confusing case with such a convoluted timeline. The unsubs have no apparent MO, preferred method of killing, or victim type. Nevertheless, they're determined to crack it. But if they think they can make sense of these brothers, they've got another thing coming. They've never been up against Winchesters before, and the answers to their questions are a lot more than they bargained for.
Sam and Dean Winchester have-once again-been arrested. Police custody never seems to stick to them and it's no surprise that they're sitting in holding cells. It comes with the territory, they know the drill. They're used to it by now-but they've never been up against the BAU before either.
