"I'm not the only one who thinks this is weird, right? I mean, when we first met him, Edward Elric was a little kid in a wheelchair, missing an arm and a leg, and now he's managed to get his arm back, he's of legal drinking age, and he's getting married."

It is kind of weird, Riza agrees, although it really shouldn't be. After all, settling down and getting married is what men Edward's age usually do. And yet it feels so incongruous for Edward Elric, who saw the Gate three times, punched a god in the face, and was one of the brightest alchemists Riza had ever met, to be doing something so normal. It would be like the Brigadier General getting married, or her. She has to suppress a giggle at the thought.

When Roy Mustang went to retrieve his eyesight from Truth, he wasn’t expecting to end up doing a job in exchange. It couldn’t even be an easy job, of course, because Edward’s assessment of Truth was a pretty accurate one.

“Hey,” Jason says, “how’s living with Lucas?”
It’s not where he belongs. It’s strange. It’s lonely. It’s torture.
    “It’s fine,” Peter replies.

It's slow, at first, but steady, the way a faucet drips, like the way it gradually fills up the sink beneath it, gradual to the point that it's imperceptible. Maybe it takes minutes, or hours, or days, but, eventually, it happens.

    Jason wakes up.

Or, Jason survives his suicide attempt and learns how to live.
