    “Sorry,” he says reflexively.
“You never have to apologise, either. Not unless you want to,” she says, and leaves him to get his bearings.
Given that it's just four walls and a bed, it takes longer than he thinks it should.

“Good luck with that,” Darcy says, then absorbs herself in figuring out the morphine button and just how many hits it’ll let her take. Many, hopefully. Many many.
“You should probably not do that,” Ian tells her.
“You’re not my mom,” Darcy scoffs, although that’s before Ian tricks her with pudding and takes the button away, which is in fact exactly what her mom would’ve done.

“I’m okay,” Darcy says, curling up in the armchair. “You know, arguably. Definitely more okay than him.” Last night she dreamed he cut so deep trying to get her words off that the knife slipped right into his heart. Then she threw up. A lot.

"No," he repeated impatiently. "I'm not a cop. I'm someone who wants to exchange my money for your sexual services. I was told you were in that line of work."

"I, uh, yeah, sorry," Stiles said. He glanced around again and then up--the full moon was almost directly overhead. Just one of those nights, maybe. "Yeah, I am. I do that."

Laura's gaze returned to Stiles, sharpening only a little as it did. "There's only so much I can do to make him act like a civilized person, but I'll do what I can. And I know that any trouble you get into, he's going to jump into the middle of it to try to bail you out, whether that's a smart idea or not, and then I'm going to have to wade in after both of you. So just save everybody some headaches and call me if you need someone, all right? Anytime, day or night, if it's life-or-death or you need to borrow a cup of sugar, you call me. Understood?"

He half-expected Derek to be standing right outside when he opened the door, but Stiles didn't see him until he stepped back into the bedroom. He was sprawled on his back on the bed, one arm slung over his face.
Stiles grinned. "Man, did I knock you out? I'm gonna go rifle your drawers now."
"Easier to just take my wallet," Derek said, waving vaguely toward his pants on the floor.

"Awesome," Stiles agreed, and then he tilted his head back and closed his eyes just for a second.
He opened them again to find Derek leaning over him. Stiles blinked and realized that Derek was leaning the wrong way, in through the passenger door instead of across from the driver's seat. He was in the process of undoing Stiles's seatbelt, and Stiles said, "Bridal style or sack of potatoes?"
"By the heels," Derek said, without any sign of surprise. "Head bouncing off the stairs all the way up."

"Derek, this is a thousand dollars."
"Yep," Derek said. "Like I said, I would've tipped more but that's all the cash I had on hand."
Stiles did the math--three hundred, Derek had said, for tying him up, plus two hundred for kissing plus a hundred for no condoms, plus another hundred or so for cuddling, and Derek was allowed to tip on most of that.
"You should get a cheaper hobby," Stiles informed him, taking some of the money out of the envelope to hide down his pants. "Like heroin."
"I tried that," Derek said, and flashed a toothy smile. "I didn't like it."

"Try to just enjoy what's happening," Derek advised, and then paused to lick him again. Stiles at least managed not to make a noise that time. "Don't expect it to go anywhere, just let it happen. Okay?"
"Sure," Stiles said, shifting his grip a little to keep hold of his legs. His palms were starting to sweat. "You're the boss."
Derek snorted, like he somehow thought he wasn't the boss here, and then he had his mouth on Stiles's ass again, licking and teasing at the pucker, not even trying to push inside.

"Shh, shh," Derek murmured, kissing Stiles again, slipping his fingers free of Stiles's ass to rest on his belly. "Shh, you're done, that was good. That was so good."
"You're not done, though," Stiles said, feeling dazed and half-drunk on nothing but Derek's fingers and too much time in Derek's bed. "I can--"

    Summary

After breaking up with Ian, Darcy takes a sabbatical from wrangling Jane to travel around the country. You never know who you'll meet on the train but there's always a guarantee of a few things: someone's going to get left behind, and you'll run into at least a few people who're enlisted in the military.

Takes place after AOU. Will not be 100% canon compliant but will skate alongside canon politely. It may even take canon out for dinner and a movie, but won't be going back to canon's place afterwards.

“That good?” James whispered into her ear. “I know it’s good for him. How amazing it feels to be inside of you doll, how warm you are, hot.”
She shivered at his voice, the dirty things he was saying into her skin, and Steve made a noise that sounded a lot like shutthefuckupBucky.

Even though he’s making fun of it, Stiles thinks the whole thing sounds awesome and, like most stuff these days, the experience is going to be totally wasted on Scott.

"He's a good kid who doesn't deserve to have his throat ripped out."
"It's easy for you to suggest this. You're going to go off to college and leave me... leave him with us." Derek's whole face has gone tight and Stiles just blinks at him.
"Hey, I'm not going far. I've got a bunch of clingy werewolves to think about," he offers gently.

Stiles tries to wait patiently, but then he gives up on that and digs into Isabelle's tub of art supplies and sets about making over-sized signs just to keep himself busy. The others trickle in and mock him, but after Derek hasn't come back for nearly two hours, Erica starts dousing everything with glitter, Scott, Boyd and Isaac commence very studiously making paper chains and Jackson even draws a startlingly good rendition of Edvard Munch's The Scream on one of Stiles' signs just using the stubby ends of crayons he found in the bottom of the craft box.
They're all so busy watching Isaac and Erica's inevitable glitter fight that no one notices Derek's return until he pointedly clears his throat.
"Oh, hey!" Stiles says. "Which one?" He holds up both signs, one of which proclaims It's a Boy while the other simply says Run For Our Lives!.
Derek looks a strange mixture of pained and amused before he raises a finger and points at the first one.
"Yes!" Stiles says, punching the air and then making to rip the second sign in half. Jackson snatches it from him with a dirty look and very carefully rolls it up. Stiles grins at him, indulgent.
"You're right. That one will come in handy at some point."
