    “No,” Rahadin said.
    “Then do tell what caused this?” He pressed the dagger deeper, eyes flashing, “Loyalty? Loyalty should have you obey me.”
    Rahadin’s mind was rushing, the cries of the choir overwhelming him. What should he say, what could he say? The vampire was rarely contented in such spirits by anything other than the death of his enemy. Rahadin had never let the enemy be himself. He decided to tell the truth.
