Really interesting, like a mini-episode from the series itself. I like the glimpses into the Medicine Seller's origins, powers and personality, too.

I rarely read - let alone bookmark - fanfic for Harry Potter, but this story is funny, heartwarming, nostalgic and oddly beautiful in a manner perfectly befitting its teenage male protagonists. Sirius and James' friendship, as well as their overall group dynamic, was so utterly perfect that I kept breaking into smiles at random moments. And despite the fact that getting James together with Lily and Sirius to realise his feelings for Remus are the major themes, this is still, by and large, a friendship fic.

Excellent handling of both canon characters and OC's, era-appropriate dialogue and narrative in the author's crisp, witty style, a plot that's equal parts action/adventure and political intrigue and events just as improbably, anachronistically Hollywood thriller-esque as Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow itself, makes me quite happy that I went and watched the movie just so I could read this fic.

A few emotional loose ends are left untied, but for purposes of plot Fog on the Clyde can be considered complete.

    (1) Fog on the Clyde: Part One : Fog on the Clyde is set about six months after the conclusion of the events of the film. Matters left unresolved cast lingering shadows, the Legion tries to rebuild in the wake of Totenkopf's destruction, Dex struggles with feelings he dare not express, Joe makes himself elusive and, on both sides of the Atlantic, faceless men in green-silk drawing rooms plan a coup which will give them world domination.

    (2) Fog on the Clyde: Part Two : Action moves to the Eastern side of the Atlantic, as Joe sets off to find Dex in Scotland. Meanwhile, the shadowy villains launch a second attack on the prototype weapon.

    (3) Fog on the Clyde: Part Three : Polly has to go deep undercover to find out who is behind the New Jacobite Brethren and what their aims are. Joe and Dex, meanwhile, have their own battles to fight.

    (4) Fog on the Clyde: Part Four : The concluding instalment. All plot threads come together as the villains' true purposes are revealed and the extent of the conspiracy is found to have penetrated even more deeply than anyone thought possible.

A mafia AU with the pantheon of Greek gods as The Family is a really inspired idea. It's not exactly brilliant on the mystery front, but by assigning apt roles for each mythological character and manipulating events creatively the author has managed to make the plot quite interesting nonetheless.

There's an apologetic tone in the notes re: not including romance, but shipping fics are a dime a dozen, so I appreciated the platonic relationships in this one immensely; Apollo and Dionysus' uneasy partnership/eventual friendship, Apollo and Artemis' sibling love and Artemis and Athena's unshakeable camaraderie were all delightfully well-written.

Skyfall is the only Bond movie I've watched to completion - and that by virtue of the fun supporting cast, not Bond. This fic brings that supporting cast to life so vividly, and with such witty humour and crisp writing, that it deserves a read whether you're a James Bond fan or not.
