    Summary

Inspired by the Laketown chapter from the 2003 Hobbit game.

In an attempt to smooth things over with Bard, Thorin charges Bilbo with apologizing on his behalf. Only, Bard is less in need of an apology and more in need of a burglar...

Bilbo finds himself caught up in a dark web of crime and conspiracy in an attempt to unearth a deadly plot in the heart of Laketown. He may have bitten off more than even a hobbit burglar can chew.

Though it would be so much easier if he didn't have a truly awful head cold. Or an angry dwarf King on his case.

    Summary

"Thorin was the essence of so many Buckland oddities, distilled into one misfortunate young hobbit, much to his infinite embarrassment.

Built like a stork, his father had said once, in an example of Thrain Brandybuck’s usual tactless humour. All beak and legs."

Thorin Brandybuck, just recently come of age, still lives in his family’s smial in Buckland, with his parents and two younger siblings. Thorin is an odd duck amongst his relations and neighbours-- unsociable, grumpy, shy, and awkward. And beyond that, he looks rather strange even for a Bucklander, strongly favouring the thick, dark haired build of his Stoorish blood.

It defies all sense and reason why Bilbo Baggins, an exemplar of all the respectable traits Thorin lacked, would ever desire a friendship with him.

Bilbo, as Thorin discovers, is not always as sensible as he appears.

    Summary

Jaskier is throwing up flowers and refuses to tell Geralt who has afflicted him so. As Geralt grapples with Jaskier's impending death, he comes to terms with a few things himself.

    //

“Who’s the unlucky woman?” Geralt asks, stepping into the firelight.

Jaskier starts, dandelions spilling from his hands. He hastily brushes them away. “Gods, Geralt, must you always sneak up on me? This is why you have an image problem, you know. Don’t get me wrong, the whole tall, dark, and murderous vibe is fantastic -- really brings out the color of your eyes -- but the skulking tips you firmly into the realm of, well, somewhat unhinged.”

Geralt only glares at Jaskier, waiting for him to tire himself out, and sets about roasting the fowl.

“Anyway, killing my beloved won’t cure me,” Jaskier continues blithely, “so don’t even think about it. Not all problems can be solved by whacking away at them with those oversized butter knives you carry around.” He settles cross-legged next to the fire with his lute balanced across his knees and strums a few chords.

"Lips that would kiss" - four times Thorin and Bilbo had sex in a parallel timeline of the story, and one time that also fits into the original canon. Covers alternates to chapters 9, 12, 16, 17, and the epilogue, the last of which can fit into either timeline.

"In the twilight kingdom" - various spin-offs, one-shots, and "what ifs?" for "Prayers to Broken Stone", mostly made up of alternate timelines and endings.

"Falls the Shadow" - tentative title for a much shorter sequel, covering Bilbo's struggles with the One Ring.
