Summary
16 year old Katara Enuaraq is a student at Blackwell Academy in a fictional coastal Oregon town of Arcadia Bay. Ever since losing her mother in a car accident 2 years ago, Katara has been having trouble adjusting to the new reality, but when her father starts to date again, Katara's behavior spirals out of control.
16 year Azula Nakamura is the perfect little district attorney's daughter, Blackwell's drama star, honor student and member of the elite Vortex Club. For years, Azula has treated Katara as invisible, while Katara has dismissed Azula as a shallow social butterfly concerned only with her popularity.
A chance encounter under dangerous circumstances makes Azula take an interest in Katara, while Katara realizes that there's a side to Azula that she and many others aren't aware of. Will these two become positive influences on each other? Or will they instead get into an astounding amount of trouble as they spiral out of control together?
