    Summary

"I can listen no longer in silence."

The hologram projection of his strangely handsome face is cobalt blue, flickering, and full of static. "I must speak to you, Rey. You… you pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me that I am not too late.” He groans, runs his hands through his dark, silver-streaked hair, then refocuses his gaze on the holorecorder. “I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight and a half years ago. Do not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death."

Here the recording of Ben takes a deep breath, and looks down at something outside the holorecorder’s field of view. Perhaps at his hands, Rey manages to think, through the veil of shock and timid, fluttering hope. She wishes she were there with him, so she could take them in her own, and offer him the confidence to carry on.

But this is only a hologram, so she must wait. Eventually, when he looks up again, his features have settled. He looks… Fierce. Determined. Self-assured.

"I have loved none but you," he says.

    Summary

After a French notary contacts Rey to inform her she's inherited a house in the Drôme (France), she decides from one day to the next to quit her job and move there.

The house is pretty secluded, there's no service, no internet, no way to reach other people aside from the landline in the living-room.

Ideal conditions, by her standards, as those theoretically should allow her to be perfectly alone.

    Theoretically.

    Summary

When Kylo Ren took on this mission, he had no intention of partaking in any of the gluttonous opulence his host prided himself on. He was there to negotiate on behalf of the First Order, that was all. But this girl, this little pleasure slave called Rey; there was a whirlpool of the Force inside her that he could not ignore. She was strong, that much was clear, but why did he feel so caught in her gravity, unable to break away?

    Summary

    It's 1868.

Rey (Rachel) Huxley came to America to start over after the death of her father. It's not a month later when she reads an add in the paper of a man named Ben Solo in the Wyoming Territory looking for a wife. She didn't expect much to come of her letter of reply, he must have had dozens. In August, he sent her a telegram asking for her hand - now it's September, and she finds herself leaving the stagecoach in the small town of Green River.

Ben Solo went West after the Civil War. The sole blacksmith in the town, possibly the county, he decided to find himself a wife before someone else arranged a marriage for him. The only person who answered his advertisement was a young woman in Boston named Rachel, who called herself Rey.

    Summary

When a star collapses, there are three stages: black hole, neutron star, white dwarf.

No one – well, almost no one – in the whole galaxy burns as brightly as Supreme Leader Ren. But all men, like stars, must die.

In other words: this is Star Wars, by way of Sliding Doors. Or perhaps Star Wars, by way of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Variations on the inevitable, is what I’m saying.

Because there are a lot of different ways a person can ‘die’... y'know?
