“She’s actually the one who suggested it. She said she’d prefer if it were you since you’re ‘extremely awkward and gay’ so she isn’t worried that you’ll actually fall in love with me.”
“So I was the most reasonable choice.”

Summary
The first floor is empty, and Shouto wonders if he should go up the stairs further down the room when someone yells something incomprehensible from the second floor.
And then there’s sounds of things being knocked over, an irritated “what the fuck, Deku!” flying out from the second floor before a boy with green hair runs down the stairs that Shouto previously contemplated climbing.
“Welcome to— oh! You must be Todoroki-kun!”
Shouto nods. His throat is tight, and can’t form words but the green-haired boy bounces towards him. He’s wearing a yellow apron above a green-striped dress shirt, and his smile is nearly as bright as his apron as he grabs Shouto’s hand and shakes it.
“I’m Midoriya Izuku,” the youmu named Midoriya positively beams, but his grip on Shouto’s hand is strong, firm, “thank you for coming to help us with the youmus, the demons.”
