If Danny had a nickel for everytime he stumbled through a interdementional portal in a scientist's basement at the brink of death and discovered his whole life has changed, he'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice, right?
Steven's country-wide self-exploration trip slowed to a crawl the second he crossed into Oregon, suckered into every tourist trap he came across. But strangely, an unexplainable pull unlike the others yanks him to a sleepy, unsuspecting town that wasn't even on his GPS.

A grocery trip shouldn't be a big deal - the language and culture was the same, enough anyway, and Joe hadn't raised a coward.
Still, he was a displaced clone with anxiety issues so of course he made an easy mark with both arms filled with groceries. Before he could decide on fight or flight - a spinning projectile knocked out the gunman and a boot took the second thug to the pavement. The whole incident took less than two minutes, tops, and he hadn't made a decision of any kind.
Barry blinked at the darkly dressed man standing over the attempted muggers. "Oh, wow, thanks, dude, but I could have totally handled that."
He hadn't gotten around to researching the locals, he'd been focused on the alternate history of this Flash-less universe but he wasn't afraid. Granted, he also hadn't noticed the guys stalking him and his groceries so maybe he should be.
