    Summary

Now, see, Fury is a pretty reasonable guy. He puts up with Tony Stark without killing him, yeah? That has to count for something. Especially when taken into consideration that he's Director of a spy--sorry, intelligence--agency. But even he has to resist the urge to pull out his nonexistent hair when there's HYDRA, and the fact that a good third of his agents' loyalties are mostly towards their mysterious cousin...who tipped them off to the snake infestation in the first place.

Fury is a pretty reasonable guy. He just wants to know if this cousin is another fucking alien, and then he'll figure it out from there.

(He isn't, as it turns out, but he does open up a whole new bag of cats. Insert a long-suffering sigh.)

    [Infinity War Spoilers]

Peter exhales and his body turns to dust.

    Then, he breathes.

    ~

Peter remembers it all; sneaking into a spaceship, the fight against Thanos, losing... (the way Mr Stark's face had crumpled while holding him).
That's not going to happen again, he'll do anything to stop it. Anything.

    Summary

The words died on Tony’s tongue. It’d take awhile to pick up the pieces of their broken friendship, he knew—they couldn’t just rebuild trust overnight, and he sometimes doubted they’d ever get it back—but this could be a good start. He ran a hand over his face, heaving a sigh. “No more secrets, Rogers.”

“No more secrets,” Steve swore, lips pressed into a grim line.

Peter popped into Tony’s mind—and speak of the devil. He frowned as he saw someone approach from behind Steve, and the teenager stopped in his tracks, possibly realizing that he was interrupting something. Before Tony could subtly shoo him away, Steve turned and caught sight of him, then raised a questioning eyebrow at the billionaire. “He’s an intern,” Tony explained before asking the ceiling, “FRIDAY, why is he here?”

After coming to terms with the fact that he advocated for regulation only to turn around and sponsor a certain vigilante, Tony decides to make things right by pushing for revisions to the Accords. Peter is thrilled but unsure whether or not he wants the Avengers to know his secret identity, ultimately deciding to keep it under wraps—which is easier said than done.
