    Summary

A minute passes without either of them moving, Sherlock barely even breathing for fear of ruining the spell that seems to have come over them.

"Like what?" he finally asks, emboldened by the whiskey and the adrenaline coursing through his veins.

"I would have kissed you," John says, so simply, so plainly, that Sherlock wants to cry.

    Summary

At fifteen, Sherlock discovered the truth about the red pinprick in his left iris: he was marked by the punisher-god Kushiel, destined to receive pleasure and pain as one.

Intrigue and gossip swirl among the London-D’Angeline elite, and Sherlock, a modern-day courtesan, must follow the threads of a conspiracy that could topple governments, with the help of his sworn protector, John--a celibate warrior priest who sees Sherlock’s methods of devotion as utterly abhorrent.

As twenty-six, Sherlock must discover the depths of his devotion, and what sort of sacrifices one must make as the chosen avatar of a god.

    Summary

In 1987, Timothy Dugan released a book of memoirs; an account that followed his travels and adventures with the military group known as the Howling Commandos from 1943 to 1945. The short novel has been praised as a “beautiful and tragic retelling of history” that offers insight to America’s most famous, beloved, and mysterious group of soldiers. It has also come under some scrutiny as historians and critics debate whether Dugan’s novel is actually a work of fiction and not a true account of events. Regardless of the origin of the stories told in Brothers, it has touched the hearts of many and remains one of the most talked about publications over the past thirty years. With the return of Captain America in 2012, Brothers has once again become a must-read book, and is the number one pick for our book of the month, year, decade, and possibly century.
