    Summary

Mercifully, season 53 ends. Drowsy blinking lights welcome the cast as they emerge from what is essentially an enhanced REM sleep, once more entering the real world. The fuzzy voice over the PA says that there will be a post-production party in the Green Lounge, wing B.

    Only two people show up.

"Yoo-hoo, Kokichi! Angie heard they were serving cookies here," Tsumugi chirps, tilting her entire upper body sideways.

    Kokichi stares.

"Hey, what's the matter, man? At least say something." She's frowning now, rubbing the back of her head with one hand.

    The puzzle pieces click. "Momota-chan?"

    "Yeah?"

Kokichi laughs a warbling laugh, clapping a hand to his forehead where the phantom of an unsightly, floorboard-shaped gash still lingers. "Holy shit, you're crazy."

    Summary

Eight day old infants aren't exactly going to have a coherent picture of their home world or culture if they are abruptly separated from it and grow up on another planet entirely - no matter HOW magnificent their minds are. Thus, Megamind feels he can't be entirely at fault when he only now starts to piece together the ghosts of his past, and how it connects him to his enemy. A Hero abuses his X-Ray Vision, sees something he shouldn't, and feels obligated to make amends; and triggers a domino effect of discovery that leaves the both reeling.

She just assumed everyone had trauma. That was just how it was, wasn’t it?

But no, normal high schoolers didn’t HAVE that much trauma. Normal high schoolers didn’t drink vodka in the back of a van while sobbing, having just grinned for camera crews and put on a pretty face to the public for being Heroes. Normal high schoolers had parents, or families, people who cared. Normal high schoolers didn’t know the DSM front to back so that she could identify the symptoms of her and her friends’ trauma, and know how to approach it without exacerbating it. Normal high schoolers didn’t break into abandoned warehouses, trying to do what was RIGHT because god damnit, no one ELSE would.

They hadn’t been normal high schoolers in a long, long time.
